When she died, she left behind her stunning wardrobe, rows of hangers full of brand-new, high-quality clothes, silk scarves, designer handbags and shoes, most still with the tag on.
Most of the exquisite pieces had been hanging there for years, still unworn, being saved for later, for a special occasion.

I saw in my head a beautiful painting of this women.
Si vrai Caroline. It’s surprising how many people actually do this.
Awesome message, beautifully and simply illustrated. Well done!

Having gone through clothing of lost family, this has always saddened me. Use the china and crystal now.
This story is sad, a reminder of how “later” might never come. Still, it reminds me of when I worked at a shelter for battered women. One day we received a carload of fine clothes, gently used. The widower said his wife had wanted her clothes to go to the shelter, knowing how important it was for our clients to have nice clothes, not just to feel good about themselves, but also to go on job interviews and become financially independent. While she wore her clothes, she kept them in good condition so they could be worn by another.
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.
@1WriteWay That’s a lovely story.
