Hi Tim,
Stumbled across your site by chance. Nice! Do check out my site…I have some 50 word stories there. Looking forward to write more frequently.

Hi Jimmy.
I like the stories you’ve posted so far. Could you maybe send me an email at tim [AT] fiftywordstories.com, so I can double-check with you before I use one as a submission? I don’t want to take you by surprise. :)
Thanks for the link!

Existing work inspires my best creative work. The inspiring work just seems to come in pairs. I watched an episode of Behind The Music followed by The Rutles, and an idea was born. I am into productivity and watch The Colbert Report, and an idea is born. Support Creative Commons.

A little confused by the paragraphs on copyright.
Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial copyright – shouldn’t include a retail compilation, as that would be commercial.

John, that’s a fair question.
My intent is that stories submitted by guest writers will be available under Creative Commons to any of the site’s readers, just like all of the stories I write are.
The point of confusion may be that submitted stories are being copyrighted under the site’s name, not under the author’s name. When someone submits a story, they are giving me the right to copyright their story as belonging to FiftyWordStories.com. That’s why I’m asking for any other “rights reserved” requests to be specified as part of the submission–I’m not interested in stealing people’s stories, I just want to avoid any unnecessary complications.
I will take another look at the statement of copyright and see if it needs clarification. Thanks for pointing that out! Let me know if you have any more questions.

What could I write? How could I tell him not to call, that I was going away and no longer needed him like I had before. Every day since we’d met he’d brought something fresh and new into my life. The truth! Yes, the truth. No milk today thank you.

You want to trust, then you manufacture evidence. You demand honesty, but I know that you can’t take it. You’re sick, you’re slowly falling insane. Your ruched skin stretches, making your plump curves slip sadly. You beg me to want you as if you were twenty.
Everyone envies our passion.

sorry, forgot to say the title of the story is
50 Word Love Story
I’m a freelance writer and music venue owner in St. Louis Mo. I write fiction, non-fiction and do portraiture in photography and drawing.
Here, I’ll repost the story so the facts don’t get lost

A Tale of Two Cities
By Chuck Dickens.

CINDRELLA STORY
“Ann Rice is the answer.”
Doorkeeper replied, “This is the gate to Heaven or Hell.”
“Rice wrote ‘Cindrella Stories’”
“The answer is wrong, you go fry.”
“Why when I’m very right?”
“It just is!”
“What answer was wanted?”
“Our fires are a trillion degrees!”
“Nevermind give it.”
“Obama.”

My 50 word story is
THUMB SUCKER
Monday’s are srink days. Three years I inhabit his couch while he stares between my legs. Old Sigmond type maybe 60, blamed mother, but she never sucked her thumb.
They laugh in college when I slurp loud. I like the taste, wore the braces, do time with my mind Mondays.
Another 50 word story is below:
LOVE BITES
Rosebuc was too much, seemed perfect but our first date, swimming.
At first playful run and bite. Push, shove, grab and take big mouthfuls. both of us drew blood and marked skin.
“No more!”
Then she stalked me late nights, with sharp fingernails, barred teeth, eyes flashing.
SAVAGE BITCH!

Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder
She was ugly, dull and unstimulating. All the others got all the compliments. Watching them dance and enjoying life in all their lovely colours, she felt different and sad. Nobody will ever admire me, she thought. She went to sleep and awoke a butterfly, she was beautiful, vibrant and exciting!

Morning
An entire summer’s worth of pay gone in two weeks. It evaporated while bingeing on drugs and textbooks.
“What a waste,” he thought to himself as he slowly regained consciousness. A warm arm slowly crept along his chest and found peace across him.
“God, I hope I wore a bag.”

Appreciation
I see you smile at the gift he sent you.
It’s dead, you know.
Smile, as you care tenderly for it. All the care you lavish on his tribute won’t make it last. Won’t stop the smooth, slippery red from drying to a lusterless, coppery brown. Smile for your rose.

A 50 word story was given to us as a challenge at school. The title was our stimulus.
The Hollow Men
He led the hoard of men into the cold white room. He was a well-to-do man with time and blood on his hands. He was relieved to finally reveal his passion for taxidermy.
“Is the collection finished?” They asked.
“Almost.” He said, his eyes out-gleaming the scalpel in his hand.

Hi, I write mainly 50 word stories and some 50 word poems on my site inspired by random words. Please pop over and see what I do. Happy to knock up a story for you any Monday

White-hot energy coursed through my veins. Every strum of my guitar caused the amps to burn with distortion. I screamed into the mic, the raw sexuality of my lyrics feeding the crowd’s energy
I wasn’t paid for the gig. The Brunson family apparently didn’t think the songs were birthday party-appropriate.
