I’d looked forward to catching up with my best and oldest friend at our longtime hangout. I’d imagined us jabbering over our favorites: margaritas without salt and piles of corn chips with cheese. But she brought along her new best friend. They drank lite beer. And I had nothing to say.

Aww.. I hope her new best friend is temporary.
One of those little snip- its of life. Well done. Liked it very much
Loved this! I could just imagine how the old best friend felt having obviously been replaced. People move in different directions as time goes on, as we know, but it is still hard face.
I can picture this sad evening, and maybe I have lived it, too.
Fab story Liz. Every seems to get replaced sooner or later. Congrats.
Sadly this happens. Nicely written.
Thank you all for the comments. Writing it I could feel the disappointment. I’m glad you could feel the sadness.
Awe. Sad, but true.
Yes. It is. Thanks for reading Jo Ann.
Aw, sadly, a moment I think most can relate with. :(
