I can’t believe my eyes.
In every direction: shopping malls, parking lots, people rushing here and there.
In my mind, I travel back in time.
A little piece of heaven with a front porch and nothing else as far as the eye could see.
Progress, some say.
I think not.
Susan Gale Wickes is a writer from Indiana. She occasionally reminisces about a place that no longer exists.
Ah, I can relate!
At least those places that no longer exist can still live on in our minds.
I agree!
Thanks for joining me in a little wistful thinking…
And Vermont
A beautiful state! I would hate to see too much “progress” there.
I love it. Many can relate to this, Susan.
Thanks, Lisa! And I know it’s not just Florida. It’s happening everywhere.
Beautifully portrayed Susan. We can only hold on to that little piece of heaven now.
Thank you, Chelsea! Those pieces still exist, but we just have to search a little harder to find them.
Susan I think….no, I know, you are (sadly) right.
All the more reason to treasure those places (and moments) when we’re lucky enough to find them. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, Kelsey!
