Victoria was incredibly happy.
She’d just met her love on holidays in Paris. They spent all day long together. He was cheerful, kind, generous, smart, and unbelievably good looking.
For ages, she’d dreamt of this kind of man.
They’d just kissed when she woke up.
Her husband rang the doorbell.

Haha, tickled my sense of humor. Well told.
I did not catch the dream-lover component until my second reading! The “when” placed after “kiss” and before “woke up”, suddenly made a whole different story unfold. Now, if I could just figure out the husband ringing the doorbell.
Nicely done. Subtle. Tightly told, with as many questions as hidden answers.
