  1. This story is sad, a reminder of how “later” might never come. Still, it reminds me of when I worked at a shelter for battered women. One day we received a carload of fine clothes, gently used. The widower said his wife had wanted her clothes to go to the shelter, knowing how important it was for our clients to have nice clothes, not just to feel good about themselves, but also to go on job interviews and become financially independent. While she wore her clothes, she kept them in good condition so they could be worn by another.
