It wasn’t the most wonderful thing in the world.
Just a soft, lush spot of cool, green grass at the bottom of a downspout.
I’d barely noticed.
Then, a barefoot three-year-old giggled with delight at the feel of those cool blades of grass.
And to think I almost missed it.

My little sister, 60 years ago.
The world through the eyes of a child is always a beautiful place.
Sweet :)
Thank you, Helen!
So lovely! I can just picture this moment…
Thanks, Amanda. It was a memorable moment. Thirty some years ago and it still hasn’t faded.
This reminds us that we should always remain child-like, even into old age.
I thoroughly agree!
Lovely, Susan! What sweet imagery! 💕
Thank you, Lisa. Years have passed, but I still remember it well.

Wow! Really nice, Susan. Evocative, direct, and an important lesson learned about the value of moments in time.
Thanks, Mel. Over time, these moments become even more priceless.
Sometimes the simplest things bring the greatest joy. A child’s laughter reminds us of life’s beauty.
Absolutely. Little things do mean a lot. Thank you, Sasha.
The basic idea is that little things mean a lot. A majority of people don’t pay attention to this thing but it SO interesting, it can make peoples’ lives more colourful and manifold. I got an especial vibe reading this story, thanks to the author!
Sad that so many special moments go unnoticed. I’m glad you enjoyed my story, Vlad. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.
indeed, we often may not notice that we already have the most amazing things in the world
It’s amazing what wonderful things we can find by simply looking around. Thank you, Nazira.
A very touching story that reminds us that the joys and beauty of life are hidden in the little things.
Indeed they are! Thank you, Denis.
So, it is not usual story. Is the narration being conducted on behalf of the frog? Sorry, maybe I didn’t understand you as need…
No frog. Just the story of a small child (and his mother) experiencing joy in a simple pleasure of life. Thanks for your comment.
I, too, felt the cool blades of grass!
Thank you, Rosanne!
