her while she’d slept
until her prince came—
satisfied, dashing,
sword drawn—
but too late to do any good,
and gave Aurora
one more kiss
she didn’t want.

Lovely, current take on what many of us might well remember reading in our childhoods and to our own children. Also, like very much the slight feminist take on it. Great writing!
