Monday, midnight. Not again.
“Hey, anyone up there?” the man on the street yells.
I open my curtains. The street is wet. The man paces in front of Lenny’s Pizza parlor.
I could use a slice of pizza.
“Go home,” I say. “You’re keeping me up, again.”
“I am home.”

Heart wrenching. Well done.
Very neat. Should there be quotation marks around – I could use a slice of pizza – ?
Congratulations, Jennifer. Well done!
Well done.
OK, I have gin taken in large quantities, but I don’t think I quite understand this story. Can someone enlighten? Thanks!
The narrator is awoken at midnight and looks through the window to see someone pacing outside a pizza parlor. The narrator pauses to think about eating some pizza themself, then yells at the person to go away. The person answers in a way that implies they are homeless. Throughout, the narrator selfishly shows zero concern for the person’s well-being.
Love Tim’s summary but,
I thought it was her husband standing in the street….
C.S.Lewis was right, the sheep write the stories.
Great job Jennifer!
Ah, interesting!
Yes, I didn’t get it straight away. But it is thought provoking! Well done on your success!
Thanks all! :)
