My grandmother’s affection, lavished solely on my brother, who closely resembled our heroic grandfather, left me feeling bitter and unworthy. Over the years, in dreams, I idealized her into the loving, kind figure I craved; through these dreams, I learned that her love was never the missing piece I sought.

Heartfelt and touching. Thank you.
Thanks Deborah for your kind words!
An elegantly written story with deep implications.
Well done! Sometimes we all crave for recognition, and you just got it with your writing! I taught and lived in Canberra for a year, and at that time it seemed like it was a ‘boys’ world. One teacher said Oh boys will be boys, then complained that 87% of Dr.s coming out of Uni were girls! Boys got away with a lot, is it still the same 40 years later?? Thank you for your provoking story! Lois
My dear friends!
