I thought I could learn to love running. Sidewalks, trails, beaches – relentless pounding felt like punishment.
Instead, I swim. Tepid pools, bracing Atlantic – calming water lifts me, holds me.
I dive deep, submerged in silence. Graceful. Weightless. Playful.
Released for a time from gravity.
Reminded for a time of connection.

Lovely!
Thanks Amanda!
WONDERFUL! As a former long-time swimming instructor who now bikes instead of swimming (or running), this is SO excellent.
Thanks Trevor! There’s nothing like being in the water for me.
This is lovely. It has a dreamy quality. Your
Biog is great too.
Thanks Sue! I appreciate it.
I used to swim and felt that weightless sense of freedom that you describe so well! Thanks Melanie!
Thanks Julie! Just like pushing off in a kayak!!
Which I fully intend to this September on Magee!
