I step off the train.
The streets empty out as dusk sets in. I count sixteen blocks with no light. The noise from the business side of the tracks also fades. The city has turned into a tomb.
Luckily, the wise edicts of the Supreme Council still guide my way.

I can’t find a way to comment on your posts on Dissident Voice, so am saying here that your Four Marksmen Carefully Selected is a fine piece of writing. I wish all soldiers and people considering a life in the military could read it.
