Positioned next to me were two pairs of hands, both neatly manicured, both painted the same colour. Both pairs of forearms were pale, hairless, and of a similar size. They were wearing identical wedding rings: his and hers.

I was lying in bed when the phone rang. Sleepily, I picked up the receiver to answer it, and realized something was wrong.
I put the tube of hand cream down on my bedside table, put my glasses on, and picked up the real phone, instead.
It was nothing important.

She was soft and white, changed and transformed. I felt joy as I held her in my arms, and cuddled her as I danced along the street. I anticipated the moment when I could caress her downy cheeks.
It was wonderful to take my clean duvet home from the cleaners.
