I like the story, but hyperbolic has to do with hyperbola, not hyperbole.
Good catch. The word can actually refer either to mathematical hyperbolas or to hyperbole. The literary term was the interpretation that caught me.
I suppose if I was really clever, I could have formed some pun out of the dual definitions, but that would have been far more difficult! :)
