The gunshot rang through the crowded auditorium. The bumbling magician’s assistant shot him in the head, shattering the pane of glass placed between them, yet the magician was unhurt.
He didn’t know what to do next; nobody would believe he’d really caught the bullet after he accidentally swallowed it.

CHARLIE DUNN: Tracer Bullet

PI’s apartments are worthless, but this was mine.

The thug inside had broken my seal on the door. The tape was like my services: cheap but effective. I felt less fear than the tape, though.

I relieved my holster of its lopsidedness.

The doorknob was cold.  Soon, he would be.
